I went to Normandy in France with school. We drove with the bus to Normandy and it took around 9 hours. On the way we stopped at the pegasus bridge which played a big role in the liberation of France and the rest of Europe. In the evening we did a walk in the city of Bayeux. We ate that evening at a restaurant next to the hotel.

The next day we visited the Tapestry of Bayeux and the cathedral. In the afternoon we went to the Mont Saint-Michel, this was a highlight of the trip because it’s an incredible sight. We visited the abbey there. That evening we ate in a restaurant which was on foot 45 minutes away. So we were all hungry when we arrived there. This was the end of day 2.

On Tuesday we went to the city Caen. This is the capital of Normandy. Here we visited the museum: Le mémorial de Caen, where the history of the city during the second world war is told. At 2 p.m. we went to a climbing forest. This was a lot of fun. That evening we ate in a restaurant near the climbing forest.

On wednesday we visited the invasion beaches in Arromanches where we experienced the Arromanches 360-experience, a sort of cinema with screens all around you. After we watched this film we went to the cemetery of fallen soldiers in Colville-sur-mer. This was very impressive. Then we went to Ohama Beach where we had lunch. After we finished our lunch we drove to the German fortifications in Pointe du Hoc. To finish the day we visited the Airborne Museum in Sainte-Mère-Église. This was a very fun museum with planes and all kind weapons. That evening we ate in the same restaurant as the first day, next to our hotel. In the evening we also played a fun game in the streets of Bayeux.

The next day we already headed back home. On the way home we stopped in Ieper in Belgium. There we visited the In Flanders Fields Museum. This is a museum about the trenchwar during the first world war. I didn’t really enjoy this museum, because it was a lot of reading. Later that day we arrived in Dordrecht and that was already the end of the trip.

I would really recommend going to Normandy. It’s a beautiful region in France with a rich history. It was exactly how I imagined Normandy: a lot of open fields with flowers in it.

The voting age in the Netherlands is since the year 1972, 18 years old. Some people say that it is too young and others say it’s too old. In this essay I will show arguments of both sides. The question is: “Should the voting age be lowered to 16 years old.”

In a democracy it’s important that the range of opinions is as wide as possible to form a good result. Especially because with most elections millions of people don’t come and vote. People under 18 also have their own interests and who represents that now? Nobody. They should be able to vote on someone who gives them a voice in the laws that will later effect their lives.

When you are 16 you have had 12 years of school and most 16 year olds already have experience with work. This allows them to form a political opinion, there isn’t a big difference between 18 year olds and 16 year olds. They are old enough to vote.

But most of the 16 year olds don’t really care about politics. So there is a possibility that they would just vote on something randomly. And that is also not good. There is also a big chance they are still living at home and then they could be influenced by the voting of their parents.

They also don’t have much knowledge about politics, they just aren’t informed enough yet. According to statistics 16 year olds have limited knowledge about the candidates and their opinions. Research shows that at the age of 16-17 the brain will still be under going major development, especially the prefrontal cortex. The prefrontal cortex enables us to make choices.

So should the voting age be lowered to 16 years old? I think it should be, because teenagers should have a voice in the laws that will effect their futures and they have enough experience in work and school to form an opinion.

Avengers: Endgame is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, it’s written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It was released on April 24 2019. The genre is: Action, Adventure, Fantasy.

Avengers: Endgame takes place just after Avengers: Infinity War. In Infinity War the titan Thanos erased half of all living things in the universe with the infinity stones. 22 Days pass and the Avengers decide to look for Thanos and try to undo the actions of Thanos with the infinity stones. But when they reach Thanos he has already destroyed the stones. Now 5 years pass and somewhere in a wharehouse a mouse walks over some buttons in a van and Ant-Man, who was stuck in the quantam realm, jumps out of the van. He gets to the headquarters of the Avengers where he finds Black Widow and Captain America still sad and depressed from the events of Infinity War. Ant-Man explains how with the help of the quantam raelm they can travel back in time and get the infinity stones. They go to Tony Stark, Iron Man, for help, at first he said no because he didn’t want to risk his family, but later he came to the headquarters and offered his help.

Now they will travel back in time to specific events where they know there were infinity stones. Everythings goes according to plan, but in order to get the soul stone, one of the infinity stones, Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Black Widow need to lose that what is most dear to them. Black Widow throws herself of the cliff and Hawkeye get the soul stone. Nebula also ran into trouble with Thanos from the past. This makes it possible for Thanos to travel to the future.

With all infinity stones in the hands of the Avengers they travel back to the future and make a gauntlet to operate the infinity stones. The Hulk takes this burden on him and he undoes the actions of Thanos and everyone is back. But then Thanos from the past goes to the future to get the infinity stones back and now he plans to destroy everyone, not just the half. With all the Avengers back together it ends with a massive fight against Thanos and his army.

I think it’s a really good and exciting movie. It is 3 hours but not once I felt bored. There is constant action and the last battle is just amazing, it gave me goosebumps. It’s a perfect end to all of the 22 Marvel movies that went before. It’s even better than I expected. I definitely recommend Endgame to everyone even if you are not that big of a Marvel fan.

This is a biography of Elon Musk.

Elon Musk is born on june 28 1971 in Pretoria, Transvaal, Sout Africa. He is the son of Maye Musk who was a model and a dietitian from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and of Errol Musk a electromechanical engineer, pilot and sailor. Elon has a younger brother, Kimbal and a younger sister, Tosca.

During his childhood, Musk read a lot. When he was 10 he became interested in computing with the Commodore VIC-20 (a computer). He also taught himself computer programming when he was 10, and when he was 12 he sold the code of a BASIC-based (BASIC is a computer programming language) video game called Blastar, to a magazine called PC and Office Technology. Musk was bullied a lot in his childhood and once he had to go to the hospital when a group of boys threw him down a flight of stairs.

He attended Waterkloof House Preparatory School and Bryanston High School before he graduated from Pretoria Boys High School. When he was 17 he moved to Canada to attend Queen’s University. He left in the year 1992 to study business and physics at the University of Pennsylvania, he graduated with an academic degree in economics and stayed for a second bachelor’s degree in physics.

When he left Pennsylvania, Musk went to Stanford Universitay in Stanford, California to aim for a PhD in energy physics. But, this happened at the same time the internet became a thing, so he dropped out after two days and launched his first company, Zip2 Corporation

In March of the year 1999, Musk co-founded X.com, which was an online financial service and e-mail company. He earned 10 million dollars from the sale of Zip2. With this money he merged one year later with Confinity, which had a money-transfer service called PayPal. The company was later renamed PayPal in 2001. Musk was forced to leave as CEO in October 2002. Later PayPal was bought by eBay for 1.5 billion dollars in stock, Musk owned parts of that stock so he received 165 million dollars.

With a part of the money he got from the sale of PayPal, Elon founded SpaceX in May 2002. SpaceX designs and make space launch vehicles. They focus on making rocket launches more affordable by reusing the boosters. In 2006, SpaceX got a contract from NASA to continue the development and testing of the Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft. On February 6, 2018, they successfully launched the Falcon Heavy, the fourth-highest capacity rocket ever built and the most powerful rocket in operation from 2018. The rocket carried a Tesla Roadster belonging to Musk as a dummy payload.

In July 2003 Tesla Motors was founded by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning who both financed the company until the Series A round of funding. Musk was the leader of the series A round of investment in February 2004 and he soon joined Tesla’s board of directors as its chairman. During the financial crisis in 2008 Eberhard was forced to leave Tesla and Musk took leadership of the company as CEO and product architect.

Elon Musk is a very ambitious person and he really wants to make his dream a reality: Getting people on Mars.

I admire Elon Musk because he learnt himself programming at the age of 10 and he is a great entrepreneur despite he was bullied a lot in his youth he became very successful.

This blog is about my dream holiday.

My dream holiday is a journey around the USA with my friends.

First we will land at JFK airport in NYC. Then we will take a cab to times square. When we arrive at times square, we will look for a restaurant and eat something. After we ate something we will go to a hotel and sleep there for the night.

The next morning we will walk to the Empire State building and take the elevator to the top where we will have a wonderful view. Next we will just walk through New York city. Then we will have lunch. After we have finished lunch we will visit the 9/11 memorial. When we are done visitin the memorial we will take the subway and the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. When we come back we will take a bus to our hotel and rest. When we wake up the next morning we will take the subway and a bus to Niagara Falls. From there we will take a plane to San Francisco.

Once we arrive on the west coast we will hire a car at the airport. We will drive over the Golden Gate bridge and visit Silicon Valley. Then we will take a ferry to Alcatraz where we will have a tour through the old prison. After that it will be time to get something to eat. Then we will go to a hotel and stay there for the night. The next day we will drive to Yosemite National Park. We will stay there for the entire day and sleep on a camping site in the National Park. In the morning after, we will drive back to San Francisco and there take a plane to Los Angeles.

The next part of our journey is LA. There we will visit Hollywood, go to the beach and Santa Monica pier. The next day in Los Angeles we will go to Universal Studios Hollywood. It’s a fun theme park with all kinds of attractions. Once we have done everything in the park we will go back to our hotel. The next morning we will get back on the road and drive to Las Vegas.

We will just drive through Las Vegas and admire the beauty of the city from the car and of course we will make pictures of the famous strip. We will visit all the famous landmarks and buildings that Las Vegas has to offer. Like the Eiffel tower, Mandalay bay Casino, MGM Grand Casino, the Fountains at night, the Venetian casino and Grand Canal.

After Las Vegas we will take a plane back to the Netherlands and that was already the end of my dream holiday.

This trip would take place in the summer and I would be 18 years old. The trip will probably take 3 weeks. I am planning to work to get the money needed for this holiday.
